Our names are David & Dianne Glaze. We are missionaries to Central America, in general, and Nicaragua, in particular, with Faith Christian Fellowship. We have 3 children—David, Jr. who is married to Jamie, Deanna who is married to Danny Pelton, and Douglas. Our youngest child Douglas is with us in Costa Rica.
We were mission group leaders at Faith Christian Fellowship in Williamsport, Maryland for 6 years before going to Nicaragua in February 2004 to participate in Spanish language studies for 4 weeks before the arrival of a short term team from our church. God gave us a great love and respect for the Nicaraguan people, as well as a desire to see them reached with the love of Jesus Christ. In the time we were there, we developed several lasting relationships with different people, and God made it obvious that He wanted us there more than just a week or two a year. After prayer and counsel from Christians for whom we have much respect, we decided on May 27th, 2004 to surrender our lives to go to Nicaragua on a full time basis.
After surrendering to go the mission field full time, we were accepted by our former mission board, Churches in Missions, in June 2004. We attended the Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica from April 2007-April 2008 and have since served in both Costa Rica and Nicaragua, helping with short term teams and teaching classes in English as a Second Language to help further the gospel.
In November 2008, we decided to follow God's leading in resigning from our mission board to go to the mission field directly from our church, Faith Christian Fellowship, as our sending agency. This allows us to work with other organizations and expand our ministry opportunities.
Our mission includes hosting groups from churches in the U.S. and Canada on short term mission trips and building long term relationships with the poor in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The people there are very needy. In the past, our groups have helped assist orphanages, done construction on churches and homes, put together VBS for village children, held pastor conferences, shown Christian evangelistic films, and done medical missions.
Our ministry is to offer others the hope of Jesus Christ through sharing the gospel ourselves and offering short term mission teams the opportunity to do that through custom-tailored ministry opportunities.
We are independent and our ministry is supported solely by voluntary contributions of individuals and local churches. Our mission sending agency is our local church, Faith Christian Fellowship. We are under the leadership and authority of our pastor David Vance.
