Mr. Robert David “Bobby” Glaze, Jr., age 64, of Toccoa, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Landmark Hospital in Athens following an extended illness, surrounded by his children.

Born January 11, 1952, in Atlanta, he was the son of Robert David Glaze, Sr. and Peggy (Hensler) Glaze. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School. He formerly worked at Coats and Clark as a material handler. Mr. Glaze was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his parents: Robert and Peggy Glaze of Eastanollee; daughters & sons-in-law: Melanie & Seth Herrin of Cornelia and April & Dennis Whiten of Toccoa; son: Michael Glaze and fiancé Lacie Eason of Royston; grandchildren: Chandler Fowler, Evan Whiten, and Marlee Whiten of Toccoa; Mariah Herrin of Cornelia, Brandon Eason of Royston, and one granddaughter on the way; sisters & brothers-in-law: Carol & Bob Cronin of Monroe and Debra & Lou Chini of Gainesville; brothers & sisters-in-law: Ben & Vicki Glaze of Eastanollee, Glenn & Carol Glaze of Toccoa, Charles & Tami Glaze of Loganville, and Hal & Paula Glaze of Eastanollee; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Beasley officiating. A private graveside will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
