Obituary: Atlanta Journal Constitution

Arvel Glaze

  Arvel Glaze, 64 of Union Grove Road, Auburn, died Wednesday.

  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, with graveside service by American Legion Post 232, Snellville.

  A native of Rockdale County, Glaze was with the Atlanta Fire Department for 29 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 232, Snellville, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Stone Mountain, and Center Hill Baptist Church.

 Survivors include wife, Laverne Humphries Glaze; daughter, Sandra George, Stockbridge; sons, Tommy Glaze, Atlanta, Lamar Glaze, Powder Springs, and Donnie Glaze, Loganville; sisters, Lucille Yancy, Oxford, Grace Cox and Dorothy McCart of Loganville, and Elizabeth Kenbrick, Forest Park; brother, Henry Glaze, Douglasville, and Randolph Glaze, Lawrenceville; and seven grandchildren.

  Memorial gift may be made to Center Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
