Minnie Ruth Carter was born April 11,1917, the fifth child of Farbie Glaze and James Allen Carter.

Minnie Ruth married James Alexander Carter on August 20, 1933 in Jersey, Walton County, Georgia. (He was Born August 22, 1911) James and Minnie Ruth had four children, they were; Richard Lee Carter, who was born May 2, 1935;  Wilford Tex Carter, who was born March 25, 1937, Betty Jean Carter Henderson, who was born February 28,1939, and Velmae Marie Carter Stewart (Polly), who was born May 6, 1942. Both Grandparents and all four children were born in Walton County.  Their son Wilford died December 20, 1989 in Walton County, Georgia. Richard and Polly both live in Walton County.

Minnie Ruth Carter passed away February 15, 1999, and her husband James Alexander Carter passed away March 7, 2000. Both are buried at the church cemetery of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Walton County, Georgia.
