Kingswood School
Experts agree, providing children with a solid educational foundation
is key to their successful intellectual and societal growth, which is
why at the Kingswood School we have focused our efforts on providing
your aged 2-5 child with programs that emphasize cognitive, social and
spiritual development. We accomplish this by encouraging individual
exploration and team participation in a nurturing and caring Christian
environment, supported by a team of talented teachers, many of whom have
been with us ten years or more.
It is also the reason why we have chosen to keep our student-to-teacher
ratios low, and to require the majority of our staff members to hold
college degrees and have prior experience teaching preschool children.
Areas of concentration include math and reading readiness, language
development, computer instruction, chapel, music, movement, social
studies, science experiences, crafts, celebrations of the theater and
arts, and holiday parties. Since its inception in 1994, the Kingswood
School has been continuously honored as a Preschool of Excellence by the
North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Because the Kingswood team recognizes that your child’s educational
success also depends upon parental input, we offer moms and dads several
unique ways to get involved. In our Parents Can We Talk? program,
parents are invited to meet with staff members in the Spring and Fall to
discuss general parenting issues, including but not limited to potty
training, helping your child make friends, disciplining strategies, and
preparation and information on public and private school attendance.
This open discussion format has produced many helpful ideas and
practical hints for our participating parents. Our Moms in Touch group
meets once a week to pray for the school, its leaders and its students
and all mothers are welcomed to attend.
Included here is a brief overview of the Kingswood School curriculum and
registration requirements. For more in-depth information and a personal
