Frequently Asked Questions
What is Empowering Leadership?
Empowering Leadership. It begins with church
leaders (both staff and laity) who have an intimate relationship with
God, resulting in Christ like character and a clear personal sense of
God’s calling for their lives. As this base of spiritual maturity
increases, effective ministers and leaders multiply, guide, empower,
and equip disciples to realize their full potential in Christ and
work together to accomplish God’s vision for his church.
Leaders of growing
churches concentrate on empowering other Christians for ministry.
They do not use lay workers as "helpers" in attaining their own
goals and fulfilling their own visions. These pastors equip,
support, motivate, and mentor individuals, enabling them to become
all that God wants them to be. Rather than handling the bulk of
church responsibilities on their own, they invest the majority of
their time in discipleship, delegation, and multiplication. The
Apostle Paul referred to this equipping when he said, "...for the
equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up
of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the
faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to
the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
(Eph. 4:12).
What does our low score
indicate?
What the survey measures: To what extent is the ministry of the
leaders focusing on equipping other Christians to serve?
What does Kingswood hope to achieve by raising the low
Empowering Leadership score?
By improving this score we'll be one step closer to having a
healthier church. Our leaders will be excited about serving in our
church because they have the tools, training and necessary support
to do an effective job and they see the fruits of their labor in
that people are bring brought to Christ through their ministries.
